We participated in the ESC Mentor Training Programme, organised by the Turkish National Agency in Ankara from 17 to 20 August 2026.
The training programme aimed to enhance the knowledge, skills, and competencies of mentors involved in volunteering projects within the framework of the European Solidarity Corps (ESC). It brought together mentors from various institutions and organisations.
Throughout the training, participants took part in various activities focusing on mentoring processes, the roles and responsibilities of mentors in volunteering projects, supporting volunteers, solution-oriented approaches to potential challenges, and examples of good practices. Participants also had the opportunity to share their own experiences, explore different practices, and further develop their knowledge and experience through peer-learning activities.
One of the key outcomes of the programme was strengthening communication and cooperation among mentors working in different institutions. Through group activities and experience-sharing sessions, the training contributed to the development of a sustainable communication and cooperation network that can support future volunteering projects.
We believe that mentors play a crucial role in ensuring the quality and sustainability of ESC volunteering projects, and we aim to integrate the knowledge and experience gained during the training into our future activities.
We would like to thank the Turkish National Agency, the trainers, and everyone who contributed to the organisation and successful implementation of this valuable training programme.
